Hoven Clean was founded in 1986 by Lim Hong Hun and Stacey Chin Chooi Lan as a small family-run home cleaning service.

In the early years, the business was operated from home. While Lim Hong Hun and Stacey were out serving customers, their children, Lim Kar Weng and his sister, would help answer phone calls at home and write down customer names and phone numbers. When their father returned from work, he would call the customers back to confirm bookings and arrange the next job.

What started as a simple family home-cleaning service gradually grew through word of mouth and repeat customers.

In 1990, Lim Hong Hun’s elder brother, Lim Hong Loong, joined Hoven Clean and worked as part of the cleaning team, further strengthening the family-run nature of the business.

His involvement reflected how Hoven Clean grew in its early years — not as a large corporate operation, but as a close-knit family business built around relatives helping one another and serving customers together.

By around the year 2000, Hoven Clean had expanded beyond general home cleaning into specialised cleaning services including:

* Sofa and upholstery cleaning
* Mattress cleaning
* Carpet cleaning
* Curtain cleaning
* Dining chair cleaning

Over the years, Hoven Clean has had the privilege of serving customers from many different backgrounds, including members of royal households, politicians, business leaders and other high-profile individuals.

One reason many customers trusted Hoven Clean was its close-knit local team. Rather than relying heavily on foreign labour or passing jobs to unknown subcontractors, Hoven Clean built its reputation around people who were personally known to the family and trusted to work inside customers' homes and premises.

The Second Generation

In 2013, Lim Kar Weng took over the leadership of Hoven Clean and became the second generation to helm the family business.

Under his leadership, the company continued focusing on professional upholstery and specialised cleaning services while modernising the way the business was operated and marketed.

Within five years of taking over the company, Hoven Clean's revenue had doubled.

In 2016, Lim Kar Weng's long-time best friend, Yap Kar Chin, joined the business and became part of the team.

Today, Hoven Clean remains a family-owned and closely operated business. The people working within the company are family members, relatives or long-time friends who have built trust with one another over many years.

That family-business culture remains one of the most important parts of Hoven Clean.

## Still Family-Owned Since 1986

Nearly four decades after it began as a small home-based family business, Hoven Clean continues to operate with the same basic principle: customers should know who is entering their home and who is responsible for the work.

From Lim Hong Hun and Stacey Chin Chooi Lan taking bookings by telephone in the 1980s, to the second generation continuing the business today, Hoven Clean has grown without losing its family roots.

What began with a husband, wife and their children helping from home has become an established cleaning company serving residential and commercial customers throughout Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley.

And after all these years, Hoven Clean is still family-owned, still hands-on, and still built around people we know and trust.
